REDIRECTED RESOURCES
Less foreign aid from official donor countries. Humanitarian aid used to stem migration, achieve foreign policy objectives, and derive domestic economic benefits.

RESOURCES DECLINED
Aid to Africa fell by 4%, while aid to lower-middle income and upper-middle income countries, fell by 11% and 19% in real terms. SA is seen as a middle income country.

SHIFTING PRIORITIES
COVID-19 pandemic, nationalisation, patriotism, trade wars, restrictive policies, distrust, conflicting and competing focus areas have an impact on resource availability, allocation and distribution.

FUNDING MODEL DESIGN

Conducting desktop research, international and regional engagement with various funders, and designing a new funding model focused on creating new channels of funding for the advancement of women and girls.

SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY

Developed a sustainability strategy for a client that included exploring diversified grant funding, income generation and investment strategies as options to create a sustainable organisation.
